A Commitment to Sustainable EV Production

At Honda, we’re excited to announce a major investment in Canada to strengthen our electric vehicle (EV) capabilities and support our goal of achieving 100% BEV and FCEV sales by 2040. We’re building state-of-the-art EV and battery plants in Ontario, with production set to begin in 2028. This move, following our successful EV Hub project in Ohio, will create thousands of new jobs and harness Canada’s clean energy to drive a more sustainable future.

ChargeScape

Honda, alongside BMW and Ford, has launched ChargeScape, a software platform that connects electric vehicles (EVs) to the power grid, helping stabilize the grid and reduce charging costs for drivers. The system manages charging in real-time, reducing demand during peak times and enabling energy to flow back to the grid when needed. This joint venture reflects our continued commitment to EVs and lowering total ownership costs.

IONNA

Honda, along with BMW, GM, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis, and Toyota, is proud to partner in IONNA to build a network of over 30,000 high-powered EV chargers across North America. IONNA aims to provide EV drivers with a reliable, welcoming charging experience—whether in small towns or on major highways—transforming the recharge moment into an opportunity for connection. The future of EV charging is here with IONNA.

Advancing Electrification: Honda's EV Hub Partnership

In partnership with LG Energy Solution, Honda is creating the Honda EV Hub in Ohio, set to begin production in late 2025. The hub will produce petrol, hybrid, and battery-electric vehicles on the same lines, starting with an Acura EV based on the Performance EV Concept. With $700 million invested in retooling and a joint $3.5 billion in battery production, the collaboration promotes sustainable, human-friendly manufacturing.
